2024 Masters Round 3 odds, picks: Back this trio of golfers

What a first 36 holes we saw at Augusta National. The weather was the storyline Friday, with significant winds raising the average score on the day to around 75. That is an otherworldly number for professional golf in 2024. As much as I wish the winds would stay up this weekend, it seems that it will be a much more calm forecast Saturday and Sunday. This will give some hope to the chasers, which will allow us to sprinkle some outright bets, positional bets or matchups.

Here are the 2024 Masters Round 3 odds and picks.

Cam Davis Top 10 (+150)

I'm not sure why we are still getting great odds on Cam Davis. Rounds of 69 and 72 have him firmly inside the top 10. If you have followed from pre-tournament, Davis top 10 at +1400 was my best bet of the week. He is an excellent fit for Augusta National and he is showing it thus far.

Davis has been showing the driving prowess. He is taking driver when he feels it is right but also taking his medicine and ripping the three wood off the tee when he needs to find position. The iron play has been solid as well, but the real kicker is the putter. Davis has been putting very well through 36 holes and it has been impressive to watch. He is still in the mix to contend for the lead and I expect the top 10 to be a breeze.

Jon Rahm Top 10 (+700)

This feels just about on par to what Jon Rahm has been doing throughout his first few starts on LIV. He has been teetering around for the first few days and backdooring top-10 finishes. Luckily for Rahm, he has two more rounds to accomplish that feat, unlike LIV where he just has three.

The best players in the world rise to the top in the toughest of tests and I fully expect that to be the case here. Rahm has not been playing his best golf here or in 2024, but he is still one of the top players in the world. Look for Rahm to go on a few birdie runs when the conditions ease up and work his way back up the leaderboard.

Cameron Smith Top 5 (+400)

We were unsure what to make of Cameron Smith heading into the week. He was a golfer with great course history around Augusta and a player that the course suits well.

He has not played too well on LIV so far this season, which is unlike him. He also withdrew from the LIV event last week, which raised a ton of questions heading into the week. Smith hung in there through 36 holes in some extremely tough conditions. He is a golfer who thrives in easier scoring conditions and that is what we will see over the weekend. When he won his major in 2022, it was at 20-under.

Look for Smith to sneak up the leaderboard. The man was getting zero coverage over the first two days.
